Roofnode is way faster and much more scalable than other wireless Internet access technologies. Up to 100Mbps up- and download bandwidth can be provided to EVERY home whether in the center or at the edge of a city.

Our innovative technology solves the problem of dropping speed that normally affects growing wireless mesh-networks. That's simply because Roofnode is able to send data packets targeted from node to node without disturbing the communication of neighboring nodes.

Range

Mesh-networks like Roofnodes can grow and increase their coverage area. In general a wireless mesh-network is a collaboration of wireless devices with the goal of bridging exceptional long distances. Our mesh-nodes are designed for distances of up to 2km between each other. But the overall range can be multiple times higher due to the mesh concept.

Deployment

Roofnode doesn't require big base stations like mobile phone networks. Instead our special outdoor mesh-node is mounted on every subscribers rooftop. The installation of this device is like installing a satellite dish. Even easier because the device is much lighter and there is no need for antenna alignment.

Scalability

Roofnodes mesh-networks are designed to start with only a few subscribers in a village but with the ability to grow up to hundreds of subscribers. Every additional subscriber increases the overall capacity of the network. It's like a road network with more and more cross-connections. This helps to prevent congestions in the network.

A small Roofnode network is equipped with one central uplink-node that is connected to the global Internet backbone. But growing mesh-networks can have multiple such backbone connections for pumping more and more data into the mesh-network. This multiple uplink-nodes increase the Internet bandwidth for all subscribers. That's a unique feature compared to other wired or wireless Internet access technologies like DSL, 3G, LTE or cable TV.

Maintenance

Roofnode networks are foolproof to maintain. The only thing that can break is the mesh-node on top of a roof. Replacing such a broken node lasts only a few minutes. There's no need for skilled network engineers on site. This eases the spreading of Roofnode networks throughout the US.

All Roofnode mesh-networks and every single mesh-node is monitored remotely from a central network operation center. We recognize and solve problems in the network even before you notice that there's something wrong.
